'Along the way, you’ll find various markers and installations that shed light on Sheffield’s vibrant industrial history. From steelworks to old factories, the trail offers a unique window into the city’s past life as an industrial powerhouse. While the walk is fundamentally leisurely, the educational components make it intellectually stimulating, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of the area’s historical importance.' This is a guided walk with Steve our History Guru. We will walk from Meadowhall along the canal. It's a slow 4.6 mile walk along the canal with plenty of stops for Steve to let us know about the history. It's a flat and well maintained path, and if you don't fancy the full walk there are 2-3 places along the way for you to catch the tram back to Meadowhall.
At the end of the walk you can either catch the tram back to Meadowhall or if you feeling energetic walk back!
Book your place online or alternatively during the May meeting.
