About the Event

The Leeds Library was founded in 1768 and is the oldest surviving example of the proprietary subscription library in the British Isles . They have lots of books to show us (140,000) and history of the library to tell us about.

We are planning on day trip to Leeds including the train from Sheffield at about 9am. We get to Leeds about 10am which gives us time for a coffee before a guided tour of this wonderful building. We will have time for some lunch and maybe a bit of shopping before catching the train home.  The cost of the tour is £120 split between us. We can take 12 people on the tour. We will confirm train times nearer the date to ensure there are no strikes.
